Lun Jing became famous in 1700, when he was presented with a gift to Emperor Qian Lun. He immediately received the status of imperial tea, and since then remains one of the most famous Chinese teas. Currently, Long Jing, along with Tie Guan Yin and Puer, is one of the most popular teas in China. For its manufacture, only a tea bud and the first two leaves are used; they are fried in a special boiler - wok with the addition of tea oil. The taste of tea depends on the quality of the oil no less than on the quality of the leaves themselves.
The tea leaf is large, flat, bright green in color, has a dense, slightly tart aroma of fresh green with nutty shades at the end.
This tea is easy to brew. Unlike other types of green tea, because of the special technology of roasting, even after a long infusion, it does not become too bitter.
Taste
Long Jing has a characteristic, pleasant taste and delicate aroma of fresh herbs and nuts. The infusion is transparent, light green. The taste is very light, harmonious: nutty notes turn into a light tart aftertaste.
