Tai Ping Hou Kui (leader of monkeys from Tai Ping) is one of the most famous types of green tea in Anhui Province, Tai Ping County. This tea is harvested from tea bushes growing in the mountains at an altitude of 700 meters near Lake Taiping. Due to the unique climate, the tea leaf can reach fifteen centimeters in length and at the same time not lose the tenderness inherent in young leaves.
Processing technology is complex and has strict quality criteria. They collect Tai Ping Hou Kui in the spring in the shadowed slopes of the gorges. As a raw material, a kidney and upper leaves are used. The raw materials are sorted, slightly fried, then dried for a long time on special sieves, manually straightening the tea leaf, pressing it through the fabric and shaping it (on some leaves of this tea you can notice corrugation left from contact with the sieve when drying).
The sight of dry Tai Ping Hou Kui can not leave anyone indifferent. Long, flat, bright green leaves gently hug the kidney. One kind of tea creates a good mood for the whole day.
